Dance forms include basic Ballet concepts as well as the Isadora Duncan dance aesthetic. In addition to preliminary ballet concepts, the Isadora portion of the class helps to cultivate the inherent beauty of a child's natural movement. There is also an exploration of each child's creativity through movement. Full body immersion, immersion in the music and exploration of movement qualities are experienced and grace and artistry are developed. Classes are tailored to students' needs and development. Class is a joyous experience of dance for each young developing artist!
This class employs movement that is natural and developmentally appropriate. Students do more than learn gestures or positions. They develop body connectivity, ease of movement, and the ability to dance freely and confidently with others through the space, all while still developing foundations of dance technique. We use props, images, stories, games and songs to engage the child’s body, mind, and spirit. Children learn to love moving, to trust their bodies, to trust each other. This class helps children in finding their unique place in the world. Class is gender-neutral.
